THE FUTURE OF PROGRESSIVE POLITICS

The vote of over 32,000 for the Greens, and the strong showing of three =
socialist parties in Melbourne electorates give hope to all who work for =
progressive social change and social justice beyond the deadening =
confines of the two party system. The vote for left of Labour candidates =
was in fact the biggest percentage vote since 1946.

This meeting has been called to consolidate the cooperation that =
currently exists and to discuss ways of strengthening the work of =
progressive organisations including the prospects for an Alliance
