McDonalds is in its wisdom has decided to establish a McDonalds in
Centennial Park. Yet another example of the corporate private world taking
over public land.
The CFMEU is holding a green ban on any development on the site. This
coming Tuesday 7 March at 12pm the CFMEU in conjunction with NUS and
residents is holding a protest at the UNSW Mcdonalds on Barker Street.
There will be an alternative BBQ and rally.
The issues to be raised are:
1. the increasing corporate takeover of our society
2. public land for public use
3. anti-McDonalds- they are anti-workers, anti-environment
4. environmental degradation caused by companies like McDonalds.
