"Global Spin" launch
"Greenpeace is being co-opted to support industry solutions, and the
opportunists within the organisation have made the most of the solution.
Radicals within Greenpeace have been maginalised; presumably, many have
left, either disillusioned or forced out in the waves of downsizing that
occurred during the 1990s as Greenpeace was restructured into an
'efficient' corporate machine."
So says Sharon Beder in one of the new chapters in the revised edition of
her controversial book "Global Spin", a searing attack on the way big
business seeks to influence public opinion and co-opt the environmental
movement. She analyses the corporate machinations behind confusion about
global warning and Sydney's supposedly 'Green' Olympics.
"Global Spin" is now available at the New International Bookshop. Sharon
Beder will be speaking at the shop on Thursday 16th March at 6.30pm. For
