GREEN PICNIC at CAMP EUREKA: A little known gem of the labour movement

WHEN:  Sunday, March 19, 2000, 10am till 5pm

AT:  100 Tarrango Rd, Yarra Junction. Mel Ref 288 K10, Cost, $7/$4

WHO:  Earthworker and Friends of the Earth will be there and other
environmental groups are invited.  Hear about union involvement in
Latrobe Valley wind power generation. Meet and talk, learn from each
other.

ALSO:  Dancing, singing, barbecues children's activities, environmental
displays, boules and good company.  Vegetarian food available.
Otherwise BYO food.

ABOUT CAMP EUREKA:  On 16 acres, bounded by the Little Yarra River.
Trees have been preserved from 1945.  Since 1991 the habitat group have
weeded blackberries out by hand - without chemicals or loss of soil on
river banks replacing with indigenous species - 3000 trees planted, seed
from the Upper Yarra Conservation Group.  Many ferns, shrubs, grasses
indigenous to the area are planted too.
