Demonstrators Take Cops Captive
Police enforcing the interests of the ruling classes and multinationals is
something that gets up the noses of lots of Leftlinkers I am sure. How many
demonstrations have you been to where the police push around protesters and
protect the property stolen from the people by criminal corporations?
If you have been to even a fraction as many as I have you will love this story.
In Tepatec, Mexico recently a crowd protesting the arrest of demonstrating
students turned the tables on the cops. Yes, the people arrested 68 police
officers, stripped them to the waist, tied them up (only with ropes around
their waists) and lined them up to be jeered at by the angry crowd.
There is a photo of some of the cops looking humbled and ashamed in The
Guardian Weekly Feb24-1st March, p. 2 for those of you who would like to
take a look.
