Logging Victoria's Water Catchments
The Central Highlands cover some 1 million hectares of forest in central
Victoria. While some of it is protected, other sections - including some
water catchment areas - are subject to logging. Logging in the area is due
to start on December 1st and today we hear from The Wilderness Society's
Megan Clinton about the campaign to raise awareness and stop logging in
Victoria's Central Highlands.

Cycle Against the Nuclear Cycle 2
In the middle of this year activists set off from the proposed uranium mine
in the Northern Territory, Jabiluka, on the second Cycle Against the
Nuclear Cycle. They went all the way to Perth informing themselves and the
communities they passed by about the impacts of uranium mining, the
problems of waste storage and the issues facing the nuclear industry as a
whole. Activist Charlotte McCabe joined the ride for the last 3 weeks and
sent this report to Earth Matters.
