I am sending you notice of our AGM on 30/10/2000 - our guest speaker will
be Bob Symington Director of "Green Games Watch 2000" in Sydney and was in
part responsible for the first green summer games in history. He is
speaking about the blue print for sustainable event management. The Royal
Park Protection Group is using this meeting to launch a campaign for "Green
Games 2006" ie Melbourne's Commonwealth Games.
We are hoping that this will be the start of an alliance between community,
environmental and trade union groups to ensure Melbourne's games are green
and we don't just get a "greenwash" from the Bracks Government.
