NONVIOLENT COMMUNITY SAFETY AND PEACEKEEPING TRAINING
Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March, 2001
Melbourne, Victoria.
An intensive, 2 day training workshop covering a range of practical skills
and strategies for creating safety in our lives and communities.
- Defining 'safety'for ourselves;
- Ways of safely and effectively interrupting and intervening in aggressive
situations;
- Basic 'on your feet' conflict resolution;
- Active listening and communication skills;
- Dealing with stress, debriefing and looking after ourselves;
- Lots of fun, games and good food!
Pt'chang's now has five years of experience fielding volunteer safety teams
at a wide range of festivals and events. Pt'chang runs run co-ordinated
community safety projects and provides material support and training for
community and activist groups upon request. These trainings are for people
wishing to volunteer for Pt'chang work but also for anyone interested in
increasing their skills or exploring ways of creating genuine community
safety.
Costs range from $50 unwaged to $90 waged and includes vegetarian food, the
