"Bosnia, Kosova and the West" By Mike Karadjis Published by Resistance Books, 2000. rrp $24.95 ISBN 1876646055 "Bosnia, Kosova and the West" brings a Marxist analysis to the events prior to, during and post the intervention of NATO in the former Yugoslavia. It identifies clearly the interests behind the western imperialist powers in their relations with the Milosovic regime and their decision to opt for military force against Serbia, and poses fundamental questions for the left around the issue of support for national self determination, and western military intervention. He has been active in left-wing politics for 28 years, beginning as a high school student campaigning in solidarity with the struggle of the Vietnamese people against US imperialist aggression. He has also been involved in support for the struggles of the Palestinian people and against the genocidal western sanctions on Iraq. Mike was active in left-wing politics in Greece druing the late 1980s and 1990s, when he began a connection with the issues in the Balkans.
