The Young Socialist League will hold it's second skate rally on Friday the
23rd of March commencing at 5pm at the City skate park in Melbourne. After
the first rally the council decided not to ban skating in the area it
presides over. Couter acting this the Melbourne City Council instead
decided they would create "No Skating zones" which would give the council
powers to push young people out of area's dominated by the ideology of
corporate Melbourne.

The Young Socialist League believes that the decision to move the skate
park out of the city centre is an attempt to further corporatise the streets
of Melbourne. Young people are only wanted in the CBD if they are able and
prepared to spend money. Corporate Melbourne takes no responsibility in
contributing to the health and prosperity of young people however it is
more than happy to take their money and employ young people on often low
and subsidised youth wages.

The rally will commence at 5pm at the City Skate Park which is situated
at the corner of Lonsdale & Swanston Streets in Melbourne.
