Dear All,

During M1 in Melbourne, a scaled down but in many ways improved version of
legal support provided at s11 will be available. A group of para-legal
observers (in yellow vests) will observe, record and monitor arrests and
actions by the Victoria police and private security, they can also provide
you with some limited legal information. To obtain legal advice during the
protest, particularly if you or someone else has been arrested a list of
numbers of participating community legal centres will be provided on
leaflets distributed over the next week and at M1. These legal centres will
be able to provide legal advice and assistance, an after hours number will
also be provided. The leaflet will also provide you with information on
your legal rights.

You have a right to protest and you have rights if you are arrested.
You should exercise those rights.
This information is now available at http://www.vicnet.net.au/~wsls/M1.htm
Please create a link to this from your site or check it out and distribute
the information. A downloadable PDF of the leaflet will also be available
next week.

If you would like further information, to arrange a legal briefing or
copies of the leaflet contact Damien Lawson, Western Subrubs Legal Service
