The New International Bookshop Co-operative invites you to a seminar presented by Judy Esmond Count Me In! How to involve people in progressive organisations for the long-haul Monday 16th July 6pm for 6.30pm start (sharp) finishing at 7.30pm New International Bookshop cnr Victoria and Lygon Sts, Carlton South (enter Victoria St) This seminar is directed at people who want to improve the effectiveness of the groups they are in, or would like to join (covering environmental action, solidarity lobbying, progressive media and other). More effective organisation means more effective lobbying or action. Judy will cover the 6 Rs of recruiting members and supporters - of course, this means how to effectively retain them too! Judy Esmond is eminently qualified to talk on these issues. She has just released a new book Count Me In! which specifically focuses on volunteers and their role. Judy conducts workshops on rewarding, recognizing and retaining members and supporters, developing community based partnerships, building and managing dynamic teams, handling and conquering stress, effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
