DAREBIN GREENS present their election campaign fundraiser
TRIVIA NIGHT

WHEN: Friday 2nd Nov at 7.30pm (for 8pm start) till midnight
WHERE: St James Anglican Church Hall,
Newcastle St Thornbury (near Pender St).
HOW: street parking available, or 10 minute walk from High St tram
TICKETS: $15 / $10, or book a table of 10 for discount price of $100.
Phone Julie on 9481 5232 (AH) to book your table.
Individual tickets available at the door.
BYO: drinks, snacks for your table and table theme/decorations (prize for
the best!).
QUESTIONS: popular culture - TV & Film, Music, Sport - plus a few games, for
a range of prizes.

The night is purely fun, no politics (well, our candidate Alex Bhathal might
say a few words about our major campaign focus - refugees and
peace/justice). Invite your friends and get a table together! Composite
tables of smaller groups & individuals can be created on the night; indeed,
it was a composite table that won the RAC trivia night recently!

We will also be running a progressive auction, please contact Julie if you
have anything (big or small) to donate, or if you can donate any prizes (10
of anything particularly welcome, so we can make up a hamper for each member
of the winning table - do you know a local business that might donate 10
gift vouchers?).

WHY? Unlike the old parties (including the Democrats) the Greens do not
accept corporate donations, which means that we rely on the generosity of
our members and the community to pay for leafletting and other campaign
costs in the coming election. In the recent Melbourne City Council
elections, other candidates spent over $200,000 on their campaigns; our
campaign budget for the Batman federal election is barely one per cent of
that amount. Please help us to provide an alternative to the economic
rationalist parties!
