THE HONEYMOON IS OVER
STREET PARTY AND COMMUNITY PICKET MONDAY MARCH 25th 8AM Onwards (Sedimentary Holdings,40 Dudley Street Melbourne) Sedimentary Holdings has had its plans for the Honeymoon Uranium Mine approved. Since approval a few months ago there has been very little indication of any progress in development of the mine. Honeymoon is a proposed In Situ Leach Mine. Basically chemicals are pumped into the groundwater to extract the Uranium, which is then exteracted at the surface. A large amount of nuclear waste is then left in the groundwater. This technique is banned in many places, and is only allowed in a few former republics of the Soviet Union. The company has debts of about $5million and is finding it very hard to raise the necessary funds to develop the mine. Effective direct action is likely to scare investors away, just as it did with Jabiluka. Every time there was effective direct action at North Limited there share price fell.
