Hi all,
Please print and forward the attached petition, regarding the two boys who
attempted to claim asylum at Melbourne's British consulate, and have now
been returned to Woomera detention Centre.
The petition calls for the boys and their family to be freed from detention.

Petition statement:
FREE THE BAKHTIARI FAMILY
Muntazer Baktiyari (12), and his brother Alamdar (14) fled from Afghanistan
with their mother and three sisters. Since they arrived in Australia 19
months ago they have been locked up in the Woomera Detention Centre. They
recently escaped, and attempted to claim asylum at Melbourne's British
Consulate. The boys were refused asylum, and have now been returned to the
horror and violence of Woomera. This is despite grave fears for their
safety in that environment, and the willingness of their father in Sydney to
care for them.
We the undersigned express our disgust at the Government's treatment of this
family. We condemn the practice of mandatory detention, and call on the
Australian Government to release the Bakhtiari family, and allow them to
live in the community.
