Hello Joe.
Very nice work.
Can you tell me if your router can go beyond the 45 deg. mark? and go, Lets say
a 90 deg.'s ?
I understand the reason why you made this Z axis, I'm just tiring to see the
potential for future idea's/projects. I am impressed on what you have done, I
cant wait to see and hear how this modification works out tor you.
Thank you for sharing.

  last of the photos...
photo #1...mounting rings in place...nothing special here
photo #2...router in place...heavy duty porter cable, variable speed with a
quick chuck...the router is now 3 3/4' further towards the front of the machine
due to the rotary table and two mounting plates added...and widening the
carriage was definitely a must, as you can see...possibly
toying with the idea of making it a bit wider and while i am at it going taller
as legacy did on the model 2000, for large diameter work...if i did go taller,
i can always make up for it with the adjustments built
into the mounting plates...will the added inches of the router being away from
the z axis vertical rails cause any chatter in the cut or other
problems?...only time will tell...but it is
exceptionally rigid and strong so my initial guess is to say no...should there
be any i might guess taking lighter cuts would solve that problem...but the
trade of is worth it, in my opinion, as doing certain cuts with
different bits that will then produce a smooth finish requiring
no sanding is worth any adjustment necessary to the speed of getting a job
done...long story short, SANDING SUCKS! and eats up profits
photo #3...router tilted on a 45 degree angle...need to make a mod or two to
allow the router to drop down further...the extended router bits will help
here...or widening the carriage will also do the job...will wait and let the
machine make some money before considering that
modification

next up is setting up the long lead screw i had made and the lead screw
supports that pivot out of the way when the carriage reaches them...almost done
with that mod so pictures should be coming soon...i welcome any comments and/or
suggestions...thanks, joe biunno
