yes, the rotary table can rotate the router 90 degrees, but you
would have to drop the assembly down below the carriage rails first...it
was for this reason that i added the aluminum plate...this could allow some
interesting work on faceplates or bowls, perhaps...another member of the
group(i can't remember his name for the moment) has done the same set up as
i did...and did it well, i might add...but the way i did this i feel is
very easy to do as it was not much more than buying the rotary table and a
bit of driling, tapping and some hardware from mcmaster carr...in guessing
the total monetary outlay, i would say less than $300.00...that does not
include labor and the fact that i had that second router mounting plate and
some extra railing, which made the mod easy to do...widening the carriage
is a must for this set up...but not sure how widening the carriage might
effect how close i can get router bits to the headstock...going to be
checking on that soon...thanks for the response...joe
