Why not create the "gullets" & "spokes" of the knob right on the Mill/lathe?
Start by making the block a cylinder - to the diameter you want the knob.  Then, with the spindle/stock locked, run an appropriate size (have to experiment here with size and depth) core box bit down most of the length (you could even skip sections where you will be turning it down) of the cylinder - working your way down to the depth needed to create the 6 "spokes".   Then proceed to finish turning the other reduced diameter section of each knob and the between knob parting off area. This way there is no need to run the 5 knobs thru a drill press or mount them to the Rotary Table.

Hi Guys

I was thinking about just indexing the knob part first, on a spindle, and the milling the small side round with an end mill/router bit, before parting it off. From this point all that is needed is to just drilling out the middle for the screw using the small end in a chuck on the lathe.

There is always more than one way to do anything. Honestly I had not even thought of using the rotatory table on this project... Thanks Bill and Mike for the idea.  ;-)  something more to think about...

Hello Everyone, this is on a lathe turning, but I know it could be done on the Legacy.

How many people want to try to make something like these???
