Dea Jack:
Unfortunately I am not computer knowledgeable enough to fully undertand what
you are talking about - but I just have a Legacy file on my laptop all of which
I entered from family information or from books or from vital research none of
it entered by any other method other than manually entering it myself on a
keyboard. I have tried getting the information from the laptop to the desktop
by both CD and thumb or stick- in the past I have been able to successfully do
this by both methods but now, all of a sudden, I get this error 530. I so
appreciate your reply and willingness to help.

How are you getting the info from the laptop? Is it on a network or a CDRom.
The reason for asking is that copying files to CD and then trying to access
them on another machine tends to give grief as they are readonly. If the file
is on a CD then copy to the hard disk, change to Read/write (using
file/propertie) and then try to use it.

If you are accessing the file across a network, do you have full access to
the remote directory? Google searches for "Access Error 530" suggest that the
problem is to do with Network Access Permissions
