It's unclear whether you mean the Relationship displayed above the individuals in Family View is incorrect or you are confused by the viewing of 1/2 kids.

The ability to View 1/2 kids in Family View is for the convenience of the user.
It is not an attempt to put on screen a Family Group Sheet.
The 1/2 shown simply indicates that the child is the child of only one of the parents showing.

However I think you probably mean the relationship shown when there is more than one relationship between the person and the originating person for set relationships.

You would prefer one to show whereas it actually shows one of the other and more distant relationships? Some prefer the more distant relationship to be shown as the closer relationship is already well known.

Or are you saying that the relationship displayed is incorrect rather than another possible?

The first is a frustration since we can't choose which relationship to show, the second is a bug.

I agree there is a bias towards full relationships in the Legacy calculator or is it a bias towards the paternal line? There are some documented bugs when half relationships are involved especially when some parents are unknown.

I just recently upgraded... finally from Legacy5 to Legacy6 Deluxe. One one of the persistent problems I have had with all prior versions of Legacy [since Version2] is the correct display in the family view for descendants of "half" relatives when that 'half relative' marries another relation in my database. All descendants are displayed based on the non-half relation which is frequently a much more distant relationship. Using the relationship calculator the descendants' relationships are displayed correctly. Why can't the family view display the correct relationship?
