Not being able to remember the details from running check/Repair, I have just 
done one.
 
It seems, on my set up at least, that it takes 164 steps to complete (please 
don't ask what they are, as I haven't a clue). Some steps must take longer than 
others which is why it regularly pauses, and I doubt if this is significant. 
Happy to be corrected by Legacy though!
 
Interesting that you don't get the error after running a Check/Repair, as this 
is suggestive of a recurring error in your database. Even more interesting 
would be "what" and "why"!
