I concur about adding individuals, unlinking, linking, deleting. Also when I add many events. I have several people with two sets of parents (the result of working in the Middle Ages where much scholarly controversy exists), and go back into BC dates. Support has told me that some people have 100,000 people in their files, whereas I have only 23,000 (but scads of details, events, wills, etc.), so Legacy SHOULD be able to handle my file and my changes. I don't do anything odd, and had no problem until Legacy 6 or maybe a late version of Legacy 5. It's hard to remember now.
Check/Repair isn't fixing anything for me because that makes no difference, and now exporting makes no difference. I can't back up to any drive! I have not been noting exactly what I do in my database when I get the error message. Going by memory, it seems when I have added individuals or have done a lot of correcting data that was transferred from PAF to FTM to Legacy version 2. It seems, on my set up at least, that it takes 164 steps to complete (please don't ask what they are, as I haven't a clue). Some steps must take longer than others which is why it regularly pauses, and I doubt if this is significant. Happy to be corrected by Legacy though! Interesting that you don't get the error after running a Check/Repair, as this is suggestive of a recurring error in your database. Even more interesting would be "what" and "why"!
