A lot of people read the list and sending private answers defeats the
purpose of the list. Many people learn new things by reading the
answers to other poster's question. Please respond on list unless the
OP has specifically requested off list correspondence.

NO NO NO!!
If you have a new subject start a new thread. Do not hijack an existing
thread. Changing the subject line does not change the thread that the
message is attached to and if the person with the answer to YOUR
question is ignoring the thread you attached your message to that person
will not see the message and you will not get your answer. It is also
rude to hijack threads because doing so disrupts the flow of the
conversation in the thread. Do your self and everyone else a favor and
hit new and start a new thread.

Perfect example of threading. If everyone started a new thread for a
new subject you could ignore the thread and you wouldn't have so much to
delete.

I do not believe that a digest will ever happen on this list. (Search
the archives) By learning the various capabilities of your email client
you can easily control your in-box.
