Your expectations may be different than others. The software has worked
this way as long as I can remember (I've been using it 7 or 8 years) and
this is the first time I recall ever hearing the issue raised. So *my*
expectation is that it should work the way it does. That being said, I
don't have a pony in this race because I am happy with V6 and have no
plans to upgrade.

Yes. Setting to dead is a one way street. If you have the dead option
set to 99 and change it to 120, the people who fall in between won't
automatically spring to life. Same goes for Advanced Set Living ... it
only marks people dead. It won't mark anybody as living who were already
marked dead and no longer meet the criteria.
