Thank you Heather for that excellent explanation.  I would just add
that the decision of whether to have a child linked to two sets of
parents depends upon who you want to show on the Family Group Sheets.
If you want your father's daughter to be shown on the same FGS as you
(as well as on the FGS for your father and HER mother) then you want
her linked to your father and YOUR mother as well as to your father
and HER mother.  Hope that isn't confusing.
