This is an Access question as I am trying to manipulate my Legacy database
using Access. Yes, I am working with a backup copy of my database.

Is there a way to reset the value to be used as the next ID in a table? The
field type is AutoNumber. I know that I can't change the value of the ID in a
table. I would like to force a new record to use the ID (autonumber) of one
that no longer exists in the table.

I know Access quite well but I haven't been able to find this out. I'm hoping
that Access doesn't look at the highest number and add one to it for the next
new record.

Thanks much!

Mary
