Jenny: Wouldn't the Research report > privately held template work for Brian's situation and yours? You can enter as much or as little information as you want at the Master Source level and the term "research report" doesn't appear in the citation if you replace the "Report" text in the Item Type field with something more appropriate.

What Source Writer template would you recommend using for >citing information found in there? Topical for me that you should ask this now as I have just been wrestling withwhich template to use for two letters written in 1966 by my Great Aunt and sent to my brother, which are now in my possession. I started with Letters>Personal Correspondence but that gave me a citation which said that my brother was the holder of the letters and also meant I needed to create 2 Master Sources, one for each of the letters. Then I looked at Letters>Historic>Privately held which gave me a citation I was happy with, but again required a Master Source for each of the letters which *really* goes against the grain with me! That's the one I decided to go with, though, figuring that at least it was only ever going to be 2 letters! I suggest that you do as I did and try each of the Letters templates with your data and see which one gives the citation you want. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
