While some may interchange the terms half and step sibling , there is
a  difference depending on whether or not there is any blood
relationship. - See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibling for
definitions of half and step siblings.
What Bill describes - "When I do a swap with the relationship
calculator it changes from half brother to stepsister." -  appears to
be a bug in Legacy,  Swapping the left/right relations should not
result in a change in terminology "step to half" for what is the same
physical relationship.
