Oops again! I see you are using Word 2007 so the instructions given are
correct for you. Also, it is a requirement of posting to the LUG list that you
use Plain Text. Are you also using Outlook 2007? If so, when you create a
message to the LUG you need to click on Options and make sure Aa Palin Text is
selected in the third box from the left. It is actually sitting under the
heading Format Text. If you are replying to someone else's message, as I did
to yours, you also click on Options and select Plain Text. (I replied to you,
and because I wasn't observant I didn't notice that your message was HTML and I
DIDN'T change my first two replies to Plain Text.) If you put LUG in your
address book you can tell it to always send in Plain Text. Create the contact,
find the section labelled Internet, then right click on the actual email
address, click on Outlook Properties, and where it says Internet Format select
Send In Plain Text Only. If you already have LUG in your address book right
click on it and select Properties, the 'card' will open up, find the section
labelled Internet and follow directions as above.

Cheers

Subject: [LegacyUG] Adding Index of Names to Ancestor Chart

In using MS OFFICE WORD 2007, I’m unable to add the name index to an Ancestor
chart as I was able to do using WORD 2003. Tried to do it with HTML, RTF &
text capability but unsuccessful.

I mark the spot where it directs to erase the three lines then go to
insert>object>text as F1 directs, but nothing happens. I could not find
“Inserting Index” within the Legacy “HELP”.

Can you please help me?
