Could it just be that the box has somehow got 'set' to an incorrect size? How 
about maximizing the box, then closing the box (X in upper right). Go in again, 
is the box now popping up maximized? (it does for me). Of course, you don't 
have to maximize the box, you could set it to any size you want.

On further testing, I found the same thing show up on both spouses with no 
children. The buttons not married, no children were not chosen.
