I've never bothered to go to that much trouble myself. I look at a
Source and I just know how much value I place on it.
You can, of course, easily indicate in Legacy if you have Verified a
Source. ("Verified" might mean different things to different people.)
And you can also assign a Surety Level value to each Citation. However,
if you really want to go into as much detail as ESM seems to suggest, I
think you will need to use the Comments field, either at Master or
Detail level.
At the moment - I'm not sure if it will be changed in future updates -
there are some Templates where it is not possible to exclude the Master
Source Comments from Reports. This may or may not be a disadvantage to
you. I think Master Source Text fields are fully excludable.
