Nick, I only do this type of analysis when an obvious piece of data is conflicting with other data previously attained. Only then do I go through the steps that you outline below. The analysis is all done on paper, maintained in a file for that specific research problem. According to Elizabeth Shown Mills, the last step in the process is to write a "Conclusion."
The conflicting data is entered into Legacy, for example an alternate birth. The particular analysis steps are not entered into Legacy, however, the "Conclusion" and reasons for that conclusion are entered into Legacy, along with resolutions to conflicting information when necessary to support the conclusion, in the Research Notes, of that Individual. The individuals information is updated accordingly. I am sure there are many other ways, however, this is how I am doing it at the moment. Charles E. It strikes me that this sort of analysis really ought to be attached to the specific data somehow, each time I extract a piece of information from the source, but I am not sure how to do so. I would appreciate any guidance members of the list might be able to provide as to how, and where, this type of analysis is best entered in Legacy. __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4895 (20100225) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
