I would enter the new people into your existing file, but as unlinked individuals - that is, linked to each other but not to other people in your file. You will then have 2 trees within your file. When you find the connection you can link the trees. Find the linking person in your larger tree. Add a Parent or Child (whichever is appropriate) and at the prompt select Link to an existing person, then select the linking person in the other tree. Incidentally, you can have numerous separate trees, although some of the "trees" might be just a single unlinked person. From the View menu you can select Tree Finder for various appropriate options. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
