I should have been more clear. I am talking about the RIN. In the Index list, I see two to four different lines with the same RIN. Sometimes, it's just the married name line and the maiden name line. I understand that. Sometimes, it seems to be four records that look exactly alike. What would cause the record to show up 4 times in the Index listing other than the married name/maiden name issue?

User IDs are user chosen and can be found on the bottom left of the Individual's Screen, or in the Index if you have selected them for display using Index>Options>Customise Columns. The instructions for merging dulicate records don't seem to work in this situation. Speciically, selected the records while holding down shift does not select more than one record.
