Jenny, I really need more time to look at this. Reset, and simply ran the report, modified register, Sources as Endnotes, and not Sources, did not touch the Index settings. With Sources selected all seemed well, but when Soucres unselected, the line was there but it was rubbish, comprising a mixture of descendants and the odd ancestor. It really needs a good looking at. I agree that it does not seem to be correct when no Sources, but exactly how I cannot tell without a lot of work.
