Cathy, I doubt if that was caused by the program, unless there was an installation problem, so I would download the update again. You are absolutely right about the need to ensure that there is a current back-up before updating *any* program. Before doing anything as drastic as using the System Restore, I would first have tried using Ctl/Alt/Del to exit, or if the whole machine was locked up then a hard restart - after all that is what the button is there for!
