I have two family databases in Legacy: Jones Family and Smith family. I would like these two families to be in a single Jones Family database from now on because I have learned that I will be reporting intermarriages between these two families later on.
Do I want to do a merge? Can you do a merge if there is no overlapping? Even if there were duplicate individuals in the two databases I do not want any duplicate individuals to be merged now. I have substantial "General Notes" for each individual which must be preserved. I think I want to do an "add" and not a "merge". But I see no "add database" function. The merge documentation implies that duplicates will be eliminated during a merge and I do not want to eliminate anything. What do I do?
