I would place the erroneous obit into an event citing all the appropriate source citations. I would also place the obit in italicized typeface. Then after the obit I'd leave a blank line or to and begin a new paragraph with the heading, "Researcher's Notes" in non-italicized typeface. Here I would place my comments or conclusions in non-italicized typeface and explain why I believed the obit to be wrong.
In this way anyone looking over my work would see (1) the obit ***as it was published.**** They would also see the difference between the italicized print and the non-italicized print. And (2) they would also see what I believed to be incorrect and why I believed it to be incorrect. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sheri Harris" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 08, 2010 6:01 PM Subject: [LegacyUG] Obituary Mistakes > How do you handle an obituary that was published, but some of the > information was incorrect?
