Laura, Even if you have already done try doing it again, as sometimes the settings are lost on updating. In any event they should be changed whenever a new direct line ancestor is added.
Go to Tools>Set Relationships and Tools>Set Direct Line as preferred. Check also that in Options>Customise>Data Format the boxes for setting Preferred children and Direct-line children are still checked.
