I would not put a zip code in the address at all. The zip code (5 digits)is not organized that way. Many large cities have fifty to sixty zip codes. The number actually ties into the post office. The nine digit numbers are normally each building set/part. The way they work is each set of numbers (first three) refer to an area that tries to be kind of square, with from 20 to 70 towns/villages. Tne first number xxx00 goes to the biggest city in the 'shape' then from xxx10 to xxx99 the other places are numbered in alphabetical order. If needed, other parts of the city might get xxx01 to xxx09. For instance, in Chicago, 60600 is the downtown post office, 60601 to 60650 were assigned to the 1-50th wards at that time. When the wards changed the zip codes didn't. That was how it was set up originally. In other countries the system may be more sensible/organized, but I wouldn't use it for those purposes. If you want to, attach it to the city (Chicago 60625) which is a neighborhood (or 2). Rich in LA CA
