General Stuff ... I switched To Legacy from Family Tree Maker, after using Family Tree Maker for many years. It was Legacy graphs/reports/charts that swung the move. I am a 'so so' genealogical researcher, but, do require the facts before I enter such as 'tree entry.' My goal is to present my family roots in a manner that all will understand & enjoy. I want young & old to view their roots as people, their people, not cold charting symbols. Legacy provides the 'cold facts' while 'other, off topic stuff' turns those facts into something like watching a movie. ProShow Gold is a vehicle that I use to achieve my goal. I am not aware of a "layer & peel" feature in Legacy. Such I can accomplish within ProShow Gold. Legacy Stuff ... provides: data; assembled in graphs/reports/charts; and authenticity. Legacy does not provide the glitz, cheer, reason-to-watch via their graphs/reports/charts. Legacy User Group ... provided guidance, ideas, and direction relative to Legacy that I needed before I could think about a ProShow Gold solution/presentation. Thank you Legacy User Group. I did not want to contaminate the Legacy User Group with 'off topic' material but, I did require their direction. Winner ... me, as I received more than enough of what I desired. Loser ...
