Thanks to everyone for helping me get rid of those blank lines;
sometimes your eyes just don't focus on the thing you are looking for;
it was right there, just as discussed; I'm glad I glazed over on that
though because I learned something new here from Brian about editing
settings for the current chapter, which I think is really useful.

I will google "open office writer" and see what kind of program that
is; it would be nice to preserve the TOC & index if it's free or
inexpensive.
