Thank you to all who responded to my question. I was feeling overwhelmed with what I needed to do to bring to bring my file up to date but after reading all the responses to my question, I think it won't be as "hard" as what I thought, I need to take a deep breath and just get started :)
It would seem that in the end it's a personal choice so I'm going to play around and see what works for me. I'm very grateful for the advice offered.
