It's a long time since I made serious use of Winzip, but I seem to remember that if you press the right buttons it will restore files to their original locations, creating folders if necessary. You could also create the necessary folders yourself to mirror your original arrangement. I guess I need to be very strict with my organization for > that to work. There is a Pictures folder within the Legacy folder. I actually have documents and photos in many different folders, but I do use the Legacy/Pictures (with sub-folders for People, Homes, Churches, etc) for photographs as well as having them saved elsewhere with a different filing system. > 1 - move all of the picture/document files to the computer in question > 2 - restore my Legacy data file > 3 - restore my Legacy multimedia via winzip (or similar) That's it. > So when I restore the multimedia via winzip, do I need to do anything > further for my Legacy file to access the multimedia? Not if you have restored the multimedia to the same folder structure as previously. If not, use Options/Locations/Test all multimedia paths and follow the prompts to point Legacy to the new file locations. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
