Hi.
As an example, to insert 1861 for a census data for a married couple. He is a
26 year old farmer from Taunton
1. In Pedigree View, click on individual’s name.
2. In Individual’s Information box, press ‘Add’ in Events/Facts.
3. In Add Event box,
a) In Event Fact, click down-arrow, select ‘Census’ and click ‘Select’.
b) In Description, type ‘Farmer’
c) In Date, type ‘1861‘
d) In Place, type ‘Taunton’
e) In Notes, type ‘Aged 26. Married.’
f) click on icon at top right ‘Add oe Edit Source Citations’
g) Press ‘Cite a Master Source’
4. In Master Source List box, select ‘UK1861 Census’ and press ‘Select’
5. In Source Detail box,
a) In Source Detail type (eg) ‘RG9/123 F4 P5’
b) Press ‘Today’s Date’
c) Press ‘Save’ button at top right
6. In Assigned Sources box, press ‘Close’
7. In Add Event box, click ‘Copy Event to Clipboard’ icon. Press ‘Save’.
8. In Individual’s Information box, press ‘Save’
9. In Pedigree View, double-click on wife’s name.
10. Repeat step 2
11.In Add Event box
a) click ‘Paste Event from Clipboard’ icon
b) alter Description and Notes as required.
c) press ‘Save’
12. In Individual’s Information box, press ‘Save’
Repeat the process for other members of family.
Any changed data can subsequently be seen in the Assigned Sources box, when
inserting other data in an unrelated field.
As luck would have it, I think I successfully re-inserted all the changed data
when starting this thread. As I have not added any more data(deliberately)
since, I cannot send a relevant screenshot. However, this would just be of the
Assigned Sources box with, for example, a 'B' in place of the 'RG9/123 F4
P5’from the case above.
