Thank you, Jenny. For the benefit of those who do not know, HTML was designed for creating websites and not as a language for emails. The only reason it was ever used for emails was so that advertisers good get their message across in full colour. Naturally they didn't care how much of your bandwidth they took up, nor how much it costs you. This, of course, is why most email clients default to html, it's how they make their money, so HTML in emails helps Microsoft and Google etc., free email clients are not altruistic!
In response to an earlier post where it was suggested that not many people still use dial-up - wrong! Most of the world are still on dial-up, or a pay as you go set-up, provided they have a service to begin with. This is still true in many parts of rural England and, I am given to understand, in much of the USA and Canada. For these people size does matter! I am as computer literate as I am because I took the trouble to learn. Before I began to post to newsgroups and mailing lists I took the trouble to learn what their "rules" were and how to comply with them. I consider this to be no more than common courtesy. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergr...@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
