Whilst it might be found to be a little ambiguous, as I said in my previous
post, I believe that the privacy relating to marriage relates to the details
of the marriage i.e.. date, time , place and not to the individuals. The
override is there in case the privacy is set and one sometimes wishes to
override it.

I have to say this is unintuitive, but you gave me a clue to get to my
goal. I had to go in and set the partners to "Invisible" to prevent
them from being listed on the Family Group sheet.

So what does marking a marriage as Private mean in terms of reporting?
And why would there be an override in the report options saying
"Include private marriages"?
