This has been happening to me for some months, maybe a year. I've never used Access or Ltools, only accessing the data in Legacy or Legacy Charting.
I tried this morning and could confirm that it is always the same people who cause the effect. OK if I choose the RIN to be the sort order, but goes to the first person on the list for Given Name or Surname. Exiting and restarting Legacy made no difference, not did doing a Check/Repair. The people whose entries cause the problem have been in my tree for a very long time. The file, though, was only created about two years ago by doing an export to a new file after advice from Millenium while trying to get rid of the "backup causes error 91" problem. I did an export to a new test file this morning and the name list showed up correctly for those people. Too many in the file to check them all. The other thing I've noticed is that it is consistently the same people, not just random entries. Yes, I do use Access occasionally but only in a very "minor way" and I don't think I do anything that would upset the way Legacy works. Usually I am just looking at stuff or correcting spelling errors. The most "interfering" thing I do is run the little query to enable merging of a Basic Source with a SourceWriter one. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
