I have 4 permanent tags which indicate the 4 main lines of my family
from my grandparents backwards. For my parents generation downwards I
use combinations of the 4 tags which are each named with the suranme of
the grandparent.

The other 5 tags I use on a temporary basis and have found it very
necessary to name them so that I remember why I tagged someone and know
when it is ok to delete that tag or untag an individual. Temporary tags
might be people who need a particular Source updated or multimedia
added, to give but 2 examples.

If you think creating specific Events would be overkill then creating
just one Event and entering the various combinations of Revolutionary
War, Civil War, Mason, Baptist, Methodist, Republican, Politician, etc
in the Notes section might work for you. You can use the Search feature
to pick out anybody with a particular word or words in their Event Notes
and tag that group for a Report.

However, there are already Events for various Military matters, for
Religion and for Occupation so I am wondering if you really need another
Event field for this information.
