I didn't get to the new site going that way. I found the link for it through an online forum. I can access both the new and old LDS sites with my browser. This is the address I have for the site that has the records: http://www.familysearch.org/
The new site, using the same password, gives me the following message: Your account is not ready for new.familysearch.org. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You will be informed by your priesthood leaders when your area can use the system. Members should use their LDS Account. Volunteers who previously used new.familysearch.org. Click here to combine your previous and new accounts. General public.
